A new initiative to encourage young people to enjoy singing was launched in July. Singing Picnics, a joint project with Surrey Arts Partnership and Surrey Music Hub, invited local primary schools to come and join in singing games at a local park or venue.

Surrey Arts is delighted to offer two fun singing workshops for young people aged 8 – 13 years of age during the Summer holidays at the Howard of Effingham School, near Leatherhead.

Surrey Arts is delighted to announce it has been awarded funding from the PRS (Performing Rights Society) Foundation’s Open Fund for 'No Sound Ever Dies', a newly-commissioned piece of music for 1,000 instrumentalists and singers drawn from Surrey schools and community groups.

The One Handed Musical Instrument Trust (OHMI) is through to the final round of National Lottery Awards and they need votes to help them secure some more funding.

Surrey Arts is piloting the use of digital distance learning to increase access to their instrumental teaching provision and services, especially for those young people who currently don’t engage with formal music learning.
